The 70th anniversary of the construction and development of ＂Tianda Jingyi＂ held a series of activities conference and the Dean’s Forum.

At 9 o’clock in the morning, the conference began with the national anthem sung by the audience. Yan Jigui, Party Secretary and Dean of Jingyi College, delivered a speech first. He said that at the beginning of the seventies, the mind did not change, and generations of people pursued it. "Tianda Jingyi" carried out scientific research, personnel training and social services in disciplines and professional fields such as instrument science and technology, optical engineering, biomedical engineering, etc., and deepened its cultivation, which promoted "Tianda Jingyi" to a new milestone; Adhering to the tradition of "seeking truth from facts and striving for perfection", "Tianda Jingyi" has formed the spiritual characteristics of patriotism and dedication to society in the long-term development, and more than 25,000 graduates have made contributions to the country’s construction and social development. Yan Jigui pointed out that "Tianda Jingyi" will take the celebration of the seventieth anniversary as a new starting point, and under the strong leadership of the school Party Committee, with the care and support of friends from all walks of life, and with the care and help of alumni at home and abroad, it will continue to gather together and continue to write new glories.

Subsequently, Lu Li, on behalf of the college, released a series of celebrations for the 70th anniversary with the theme of "recalling 70 years of exquisite craftsmanship and continuing the great glory of the new era".

At the meeting, the Engineering Science Experimental Class of Tianjin University was officially named "Wang Shourong Class" to commemorate and highlight the outstanding contribution made by Mr. Wang Shourong, one of the "Eighteen Arhats" trained by Tianda in the 1960s and the founder of Tianda Jingyi, in the fields of instrument and meter education and technical development in China. Professor Zheng Gang, Vice President of Tianjin University, and Professor Zhang Guoxiong, the first president of Jingyi College, came to the stage together to present flags to the students of "Wang Shourong Class".

As a student representative, Yang Chaogan, a master student of 2021, shared his feelings about studying and living in the college for seven years, and encouraged Jingyi students to take over the baton in the hands of their predecessors, strive to become pillars, and contribute to serving the country’s prosperity, national rejuvenation and people’s happiness.

Liu Xiuyun, the young backbone of our college, spoke as a teacher’s representative. She deeply reviewed the great achievements of the 70-year development of Tianda Jingyi, and paid tribute to the masters and predecessors who made silent contributions to training talents. She said that as a young teacher, she must be brave in seeking and create new glories of Jingyi.

Guo Yin, the founder of Yi Siwei (Hangzhou) Technology Co., Ltd., as an alumnus representative, offered a blessing for the 70th birthday of Tianda Jingyi online. He looked back on his 14 years of studying and working in Jingyi College, wishing the college to continue its excellent tradition and meet a more brilliant tomorrow with excellent development achievements.

On behalf of the school, Zheng Gang extended sincere congratulations to Jingyi College on its 70th birthday. He said that in the past 70 years, generations of elite artists have been adhering to the spiritual characteristics of "seeking truth from facts, striving for Excellence, uniting and dedication, and always striving for first-class", facing the development needs of the party and the country, striving for Excellence and pioneering, forming a dominant discipline group in the direction of traditional advantages and emerging disciplines, undertaking and achieving a number of internationally influential research projects and high-level achievements, introducing a large number of young talents and cultivating a large number of high-quality talents with excellent academic performance. Zheng Gang pointed out that Beiyang University, the predecessor of Tianjin University, has taken the mission of "strengthening the country by learning" since its establishment. During the Anti-Japanese War, Beiyang University "moved westward to spread fire", and students studied hard at Qixing Temple Branch, which became a story day and night. Seventy years ago, Tianda Jingyi was born for the construction of the new China, and now the baton has reached everyone’s hands. I hope the teachers and students of the college will inherit this heavy mission and responsibility and contribute to the cause of the party and the construction of the country.

A video of alumni blessing was broadcast live at the conference, and alumni from all over the world sent their best wishes to the college in the video. Student representatives presented flowers to the old comrades who attended today’s event and made important contributions to the construction and development of "Tianda Jingyi". The conference also received earnest inscriptions from 23 academicians and experts, including Ye Shenghua and Yao Jianquan. There were 116 congratulatory letters, 115 inscriptions and 72 blessing videos.

Finally, the whole audience sang the school song of Tianjin University, and the conference came to a successful conclusion in a melodious melody.
