The Value Implication of the Supreme Leader’s Cultural Thought [Li Xiang China]

The cultural thought of the Supreme Leader is rich in connotation, profound and profound, and has important value of the times. It is the practical summary and theoretical sublimation of the Communist Party of China (CPC)’s leadership of Socialism with Chinese characteristics’s cultural construction. The proposition of the supreme leader’s cultural thought on promoting the exchange and mutual learning of civilizations and fully stimulating the cultural innovation and creativity of the whole nation is of great significance for enhancing the influence of Chinese culture and building a community of human destiny.

  Develop Marxist cultural theory

  The cultural thought of the supreme leader inherits and develops the Marxist cultural view, and its connotation and characteristics are mainly manifested in its popularity and practicality. Marx put forward the important scientific conclusion that "the people are the creators of history". The classic Marxist writers fully affirmed the people’s dominant position and historical role in the development of social history, and advocated that the people are the creators of history, the creators of material and spiritual wealth of human society, the decisive force of social change and the fundamental driving force for historical progress. The cultural thought of the Supreme Leader inherited the scientific conclusion of Marxism, and put forward that the people are the mother of literature and art, and a large number of outstanding literary and artistic works come from the creation of the people, highlighting the people’s dominant position in Socialism with Chinese characteristics’s cultural construction. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the prosperity and development of socialist cultural undertakings and cultural industries cannot be separated from the fact that the vast number of cultural workers are rooted in the people’s fiery life practice, close to people’s lives, reflect people’s voices, and create a large number of cultural products closely related to people’s lives. The socialist value orientation and moral judgment carried by these excellent cultural works come from the people’s real life and fully reflect the people’s dominant position in propagating ideology and culture.

  As a superstructure, culture is ultimately determined by the mode of production. The supreme leader’s cultural thought comes from the practice summary and experience refinement of Socialism with Chinese characteristics’s cultural construction in the new era. Marx emphasized: "All social life is practical in essence." Practicality is a remarkable feature that distinguishes Marxism from other theories. The cultural thought of the supreme leader contains rich practical connotation, which is the inheritance and development of the relationship between matter and consciousness, economic base and superstructure, theory and practice of Marxism. The supreme leader’s cultural thought came into being in the practice of Socialism with Chinese characteristics’s cultural construction, which is a summary of the laws of Socialism with Chinese characteristics’s cultural construction in the new era and an enrichment and development of Marxist cultural theory. As an advanced and scientific theory, the supreme leader’s cultural thought can not only correctly and objectively reflect the reality of Socialism with Chinese characteristics’s cultural construction in the new era, but also have universal guiding significance for the propaganda, ideological and cultural practice in the new era.

  It has strong practical guidance.

  In the process of leading China’s revolution, construction and reform, the Communist Party of China (CPC) people always hold an objective and prudent attitude, treat Chinese excellent traditional culture by dialectical sublation, creatively transform and develop it, and constantly promote the "second combination".

  General Secretary of the Supreme Leader attaches great importance to the inheritance of culture and the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese excellent traditional culture. The General Secretary of the Supreme Leader encouraged the vast number of literary and art workers to keep up with the pace of the times, refining themes and extracting themes from the changes of the times, the advance of China and the call of the people, emphasizing that "climbing high makes people feel relaxed and facing the current makes people feel far away". When talking about cultural self-confidence, General Secretary of the Supreme Leader emphasized that "cultural self-confidence is a more basic, broader and deeper self-confidence and a more basic, deeper and lasting force". To carry forward Chinese excellent traditional culture, cultural self-confidence is a strong support, and it is also a powerful spiritual power to promote the "second combination".

Second, it should be attributed to the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the cultural confidence of the people of China. The Communist Party of China (CPC) has always adhered to the leadership of propaganda and ideological and cultural work, while the people of China adhere to cultural self-confidence, self-reliance and self-improvement, and scientifically use Marxist positions, viewpoints and methods to explore, utilize and transform traditional culture.

  Carry forward the common values of all mankind

  Standing at the intersection of history, the Supreme Leader General Secretary put forward a global civilization initiative with the main contents of advocating respect for the diversity of world civilizations, promoting the common values of all mankind, attaching importance to the inheritance and innovation of civilizations, and strengthening international humanities exchanges and cooperation.

Every civilization is influenced by its own growing environment, which embodies the living habits, customs and customs of its own nation and local people, and has its own rationality. It is necessary to treat the differences between different civilizations objectively, abandon the theory of "clash of civilizations" and "superiority of civilizations", respect the diversity of world civilizations, and promote exchanges and dialogues between different civilizations.

  Carrying forward the common values of all mankind is the value pursuit of exchanges and mutual learning among world civilizations. The common value of all mankind is the product of the development of human civilization and social progress, and human beings can reach a consensus on the pursuit of beautiful things, that is, common value. These common values are different from the "universal values" in the west. Chairman of the Supreme Leader stressed: "Peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy and freedom are the common values of all mankind and the lofty goals of the United Nations."   Attaching importance to the inheritance and innovation of civilization is an inexhaustible motive force for the endless development of Chinese civilization and the exchange and mutual learning of world civilizations. Culture is the soul of a nation and a comprehensive reflection of its cohesion, vitality and creativity. The 5,000-year history of Chinese civilization has given birth to a splendid Chinese civilization, which is not only the crystallization of the wisdom of the ancient people in China, but also a precious spiritual wealth for future generations. The General Secretary of the Supreme Leader stressed the need to continue the Chinese context and promote the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese excellent traditional culture. We should not only protect, inherit and make good use of valuable historical and cultural resources, but also stimulate the innovation and creativity of the whole nation, revitalize all positive factors of Chinese culture, and help build a strong socialist cultural country and a community of human destiny.

  Strengthening international cultural exchanges and cooperation is a concrete manifestation of mutual learning among civilizations. Exchange and cooperation are the inherent requirements of the development and progress of civilizations. Only through continuous exchanges can different civilizations promote common development, and only through mutual cooperation can they make common progress and achieve each other. Today’s world is increasingly becoming a closely linked whole, and the exchanges and cooperation between countries and regions are unprecedentedly frequent and increasing day by day, showing the development trend of "you have me and I have you" on the whole. In terms of international cultural exchanges and cooperation, the Supreme Leader General Secretary proposed to "tell the story of China well, spread the voice of China well, and show the true, three-dimensional and comprehensive China". This needs to focus on three aspects: first, we should actively promote Chinese culture to go abroad, establish our own circle of friends, and enhance the influence and appeal of Chinese culture in the international environment. Second, we should carry out various forms of people-to-people exchanges, turn our institutional, organizational and human advantages into communication advantages, and show the world a vivid, three-dimensional and colorful image of China. Third, we should make good use of the Internet platform and mainstream media, master the laws of international communication, and build an international narrative system and discourse narrative to tell the story of China.
