Special feature of 1905 film network　In 2019, the "Stars and Seas" Young Actors Optimization Program was initiated by the film channel, aiming at selecting and cultivating a group of high-quality young actors, so as to make a reserve for the development of China’s film industry.

In the past five years, a total of 158 young actors have been selected for the "Stars and Seas" Youth Optimization Program, and they have participated in 2762 film and television dramas.

Among them, there are 5 members who participated in the movie box office, and 15 members who broke through 5 billion. More than 61% of the members were nominated and honored for various performances — — Thirteen members were nominated for China Watch Award, Golden Rooster Award and Hundred Flowers Award for 26 times, and three members were honored.

In the past five years, the "Sea of Stars" has passed through 10 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the Central Government and 12 cities. The total duration of live broadcast exceeded 300 hours, and the reading volume of related topics exceeded 30 billion.

"The Sea of Stars" is becoming a platform for the growth, development, communication and publicity of national young actors.

"The Sea of Stars" teaches actors to be dedicated and devoted.

From the formal point of view, "Sea of Stars" is a slow live variety show. From the content point of view, "Sea of Stars" is a life "military training" for young actors.

Wang Pingjiu, the director and musician, once said to the young actors who participated in the "Sea of Stars" optimization plan, "You should be prepared to sleep for 10 hours in three days". At the end of the camp, Ding Guansen didn’t expect that during the three days and three nights in the "Sea of Stars", he actually only slept for 10 hours. He bluntly said that it was more bitter than filming in the "Sea of Stars".

But in fact, under this hard skin, the spirit of dedication and devotion of actors is the core that "the sea of stars" really wants to pass on to young actors.

The director, who is also the instructor of the young actors’ life experience and creative activities of "Three Days and Three Nights in the Sea of Stars" in 2023, shared that when shooting, each actor has to practice for 9 months and 270 days. If he can use the working attitude of these three days and three nights in the sea of stars to face every practice in these 270 days, it will be easy for actors to integrate into the stadium.

From this point of view, although the young actors in the "sea of stars" were gathered to experience life, train acting skills and participate in lectures for only three days and three nights, the deep understanding gained by the actors will have a profound impact on their life’s acting career.

Why was the "Sea of Stars" born?

Turn the hour hand back to the moment when the "sea of stars" was born five years ago. At that time, topics such as traffic, sky-high pay and actor’s cut-off were still flooding the public eye, and the ecology of young actors was also worrying throughout the industry.

Director Yu Baimei recalled that it was particularly difficult to find suitable young actors at one time. Many young actors refused to accept the audition, refused to cut their hair, and even the director could not communicate directly with the actors, which was directly rejected at the agent level.

At the same time, the "Sea of Stars" particularly emphasizes the artistry. In the past five years, many artists with both ability and political integrity have come to the "Sea of Stars" to teach young actors by example. For example, teachers have taken evening self-study classes for young actors in person, shared their own experiences in filming for decades, and contributed to the "movie party class" that is not famous.

Therefore, it should be said that the moment when the "Sea of Stars" project was put forward five years ago was just the right time, and it also provided a better direction for these rapidly growing young actors.

The whole live broadcast of "The Sea of Stars" and the establishment of a director’s observation room have also made "The Sea of Stars" truly become a window for young actors to show themselves in all directions.

The actor who contributed wonderful acting skills in the movie, swept away the previous images of "suspect" and "villain" in "Sea of Stars", and interacted with the children in the kindergarten in a friendly way, which made many directors see his "iron man’s tender side".

Although the "Graduation Drama" filmed by Hehe was called "psycho" by many directors, it also made director Yu Baimei see the potential of being suitable for comedy, and whether the two can cooperate in the future also made the audience look forward to it.

From the director’s point of view, taking the director who came to the "Sea of Stars" this year as an example, he shared at the scene that this time he came to the "Sea of Stars", he should not only pay attention to the actors Yu Shi and Hou Wenyuan, but also focus on other young actors.

It not only shows the actors’ unique skills and abilities to the maximum, but also allows the directors to select young actors they want to cooperate with layer by layer in their hearts to copy blueprints and make reserves for more film works.

In addition, the "sea of stars" actually requires students to adhere to the three principles of head-up, truth and cooperation, and to explore the story of China at the grassroots level.

By grouping the actors and experiencing different professional and life scenes, "Stars and Seas" first really makes young actors understand that the most important thing of the profession of actors is to have a close relationship with the world, so that actors can go deep into different professions, which is particularly helpful for actors to understand different roles.

In addition, in addition to the specific relationship with life, what the actor profession needs very much is the spirit of cooperation. The young actors’ personal experience and cooperation in the "sea of stars" and later editing are not only in-depth understanding of the specialty itself, but also the spirit of cooperation itself.

Now "Sea of Stars" has passed its fifth year. For the next five years, we expect "Sea of Stars" to steadily contribute a number of actors who have influenced China films.
