Testing "Top Soldier" Wang Huizhu: Biological safety should not be underestimated.

Cctv news: "I have some experience in bio-safety. I try my best to do more work. I hope to treat more patients. I hope my colleagues will be healthy and safe after the epidemic." This is a sentence that Wang Huizhu often talks about.

18 years of first-line combat training has developed a keen sense of smell.

Wang Huizhu is the head of the Biosafety Group of beijing ditan hospital Laboratory, and has been engaged in microbial safety for 18 years.

After experiencing the test of SARS, avian flu, plague and other major public health emergencies, Wang Huizhu and colleagues in the department have already achieved "protection awareness is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people, daily work protection is in place, and biological safety is saturated with details" when testing infectious diseases.

At the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, there were no cases in Beijing, but Wang Huizhu was keenly aware of the seriousness of the situation with her years of experience in biosafety.

At the beginning of January, Wang Huizhu began to prepare for the COVID-19 patients admitted to the hospital. She led the safety team to establish a preliminary emergency plan, and discussed with the department the feasibility of starting P2+ laboratory and the arrangement after the start. As the most widely used biosafety laboratory, P2+ laboratory is a negative pressure laboratory based on P2 laboratory, which can meet the needs of virus detection in COVID-19.

In addition to nucleic acid detection, some COVID-19 patients also need some routine tests. In order to better meet the clinical needs, Wang Huizhu and the laboratory staff moved the routine testing instruments to P2+ laboratory, debugged the instruments and connected the laboratory information management system (LIS), and invited the hospital infection management experts to visit P2+ laboratory to discuss the testing process.

One day, Wang Huizhu accidentally sprained her foot on the way to work because of the slippery road on a snowy day. During that time, she limped in and out of the laboratory, dragging her red and swollen feet to lead the experimenters to confirm the process of entering and leaving the 2+ laboratory on the spot, and to determine the details of specimen transfer route, how to put on protective equipment and waste disposal.

Start P2+ urgently, and she is the first to enter.

On January 18th, Wang Huizhu participated in the training of Biosafety Guide of novel coronavirus Laboratory organized by Science and Education Department of Beijing Municipal Health and Wellness Commission. Referring to the previous MERS risk assessment of the department, she worked out the COVID-19 detection process according to the requirements of the Guide that night. Next, she trained general practitioners for two consecutive days to ensure that everyone mastered it.

At about 7: 20am on January 20th, a routine blood sample of a suspected patient arrived, and she and her colleagues entered the P2+ laboratory together. During the inspection, she found that there was a problem with the transmission of LIS, so she immediately contacted the information center and asked for further testing of the instruments in P2+ laboratory to ensure that nothing was wrong.

On the way home from work that night, Wang Huizhu suddenly received a notice that COVID-19 patients had been transferred to ditan hospital that night, and it was necessary to start P2+ laboratory urgently to prepare for testing COVID-19 infected patients admitted to hospital. She immediately went back to the hospital and entered the P2+ laboratory with the team members to prepare for the test. That night, they conducted more than 30 tests for patients, including liver function, kidney function, blood routine, urine routine and blood coagulation.

Biosafety saturation details

Biosafety matters in every detail, and there are strict requirements behind every link.

How to send the transferred samples, by whom, where to send them, who to receive them, how to send them to the testing laboratory after receiving them, how to tie the bag mouth of medical waste, and how to disinfect the laboratory at the end … …

After Wang Huizhu’s training, colleagues have a bottom in their hearts and began to work step by step. But Wang Huizhu is still not at ease. She checks at any time and points out the problems without mercy. What she often says is: the environment is created by everyone, and one person who fails to do it in one step will cause environmental pollution in the experiment.

Wang Huizhu also led the safety team to edit Biosafety Risk Assessment in novel coronavirus, Detection and Disposal Process of novel coronavirus Nucleic Acid in beijing ditan hospital Laboratory, Delivery Process of novel coronavirus Infected Chaoyang CDC Specimens in 2019, Detection Process in novel coronavirus (Original Outpatient and Emergency Department) and novel coronavirus Emergency Plan, which provided a strong guarantee for epidemic prevention and control.

The examiner is working hard for clinical treatment.

Due to the limitation of P2+ laboratory conditions, some testing items cannot be carried out and cannot meet the needs of all patients.

In order to better treat patients, carry out more testing items and provide all-round data for clinical treatment, Wang Huizhu discussed with the department director and members of the core group and thought of a way to isolate the micro-negative pressure independent experimental area and transform the outpatient and emergency laboratory. Subsequently, Qi Xin, a member of the hospital infection management department and the infrastructure department, joined forces to transform the emergency laboratory into a COVID-19 laboratory in two days.

On February 2nd, the reformed COVID-19 laboratory began to receive samples for testing, and the scope of testing was expanded to more than 80 tests including liver function, kidney function, myocardial zymogram, PCT, coagulation, erythrocyte sedimentation rate and lymphocyte subsets, which greatly met the needs of COVID-19 patients for diagnosis and treatment.

With the development of the work, Wang Huizhu assisted Wang Yajie, the director, to write a request letter for external inspection, and went to the China Center for Disease Control and Prevention for all-round communication, and finalized the specimen cultivation work, which played an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 patients, especially critically ill patients in the city.

Because there are strict and selfless inspectors like Wang Huizhu, the inspection work in COVID-19, ditan hospital can meet the needs of clinical treatment in time. Behind the successful treatment of each patient, there are their hard-working and busy figures.
